Pair of Spanish Silver pheasants by Dionisio Garcia Gomez. The artist is a renowned Madrid silversmith from the first half of the 20th century. After his apprenticeship to silversmith DH Adradas, he opened his own workshop and he became Royal Silversmith to the King Alfonzo Xlll. Gomez died at the age of 37 leaving the business to his wife and his sons. The well decorated pheasants reproduce the details of each bird’s plumage and facial features. Both items measure about 16 inches long x 6 3/4 inches tall. There are minor repairs showing under the tail. The silver mark and maker marks are visible as shown in the photos. Both are in very good condition.
