19th century African Zulu battleaxe with a hardwood shaft. The axe measures 17 inches long. The forged iron semi-circular enlarged blade measures 14 1/2 inches long. The blade shows a nice dark patina. It is also inserted into the head of a very old dark wooden shaft. The wooden part of the axe shows a nice old patina and also an intricate copper wire.
